I smiled down at the little kit, then glanced back up at it's father.
"Seems a bit small, doesn' 'e?" I said quietly, then, louder, I said to the kit;
"Well, aren't you a fine kit! I'm sure you'll be a proud Riverclan warrior soon, jus' like your Dad."

Moonkit's ears flatten a little and he stays quiet. "He will soon," Windgaze says.

I continue nodding, smiling, and chuckle quietly.
"Bless't family ye have, WaterStar. A leader an' a medicine cat! And Angelkit looks like she'll turn out a fine thin', jus' like her mom. Good genes, good genes..." I chuckle again, and stand.
"Well, 's gettin' tirin' fer an ol' cat like m'self to be sittin' about yappin' the day away. A fine day to ye' all, then."
I stretched a bit, smiled at them all in turn, and hobbled back to the elder's den to rest.

Moonkit looks after Patchnose with a strange expression before standing and trying to walk straight, failing and stumbling again.

Windgaze nods and looks down at Moonkit with both curiosity and saddness. She had something on her mind that she wouldn't tell Silvergaze or WaterStar unless the matter showed itself further.

Windgaze sighs quietly and her shoulders droop. "I'm afraid that... That Moonkit might be mute..." she says quietly, making sure Moonkit wasn't able to hear her.

"Well, it's slightly too early to tell for sure. So it might just be that he hasn't quite learned how to speak. Time shall tell," Windgaze says.

Moonkit manages to get over to WaterStar's den before tripping and rolling inside, landing on his back. Silvergaze stands up suddenly and pads over to him worriedly, "Are you okay, Moonkit?" His response was a grin on his face and Silvergaze lets out a sigh of relief.
